I created this as a grown up birthday cake for an 80th birthday. It was delicious!
Recipe and method
Use half the recipe for the cake at https://millicentsrecipes.blogspot.com/2023/05/chocolate-birthday-cake.html
Once cooled, slice it open and fill with a layer of orange marmelade and a layer of whipped cream.
Top with:
100g dark chocolate just at melding point. Beat in 50g butter bit by bit until melted and smooth. Leave to stand about 5 minutes to thicken, then pour over the cake. Leave to set for about an hour at room temperature.
